Briefing
Trade Context Review
A focused review of one position or idea — mapping recent options flow against your thesis and constraints.
Purpose
When you already have a thesis, a trade context review tests whether recent options flow supports, contradicts, or simply ignores that idea. Useful before a roll, a hedge adjustment, or a size increase.
Scope
One underlying (or a tightly related pair). We summarise the last several sessions of notable flow, strike interest, and any expiry landmarks, then discuss how that reading sits next to your plan.
Included
- Pre-call flow notes for the named underlying
- Live discussion of risks and alternative interpretations
- One-page follow-up with agreed watchpoints
Excluded
Portfolio-wide scans, automated alerts, and ongoing monitoring — those belong under weekly desk notes or a retainer conversation.
Next step
Ask for a review slot and include the underlying, your time horizon, and any hard constraints (max loss, hedge rules, event dates).
